Julian Noyce (1968 - ) was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England and attended St Joseph’s secondary school, Laverstock, Salisbury. After working at the Wilton royal carpet factory for six years he became a bus driver, working for the Wilts and Dorset bus company for 20 years before becoming a writer.
His first novel to be finished was self-published on Amazon kindle and went live August 2011 and was instantly a success, selling over forty copies in the first few weeks worldwide.
Noyce dedicated the novel to his late grandparents Alfred and Veronica Noyce who both appear as themselves in the novel. The character Alfred Dennis is his grandfather and the World War II part of the book is based loosely on Alfred’s experiences as a sapper in the Royal engineers in the British eighth army under the command of General Sir Bernard Montgomery serving in North Africa.
Noyce has been fascinated by history especially Roman since he saw Charlton Heston as Ben Hur when he was twelve and was inspired to write his novel by the writer James Clavell’s Shogun.
Noyce Has just completed his third novel, Drake’s Gold, in the Peter Dennis adventures. He is also writing a pentalogy on ancient Rome. One of the five Roman novels will be dedicated to the memory of James Clavell.
Noyce is also credited in Romy Wyeth’s book Stonehenge: ‘The Dragon path and the Goddess’ for finding Alexander the Great at Delphi.
Noyce lives with his partner Natalie and daughter Katie Jane (Born Nov ’13) in Tisbury, Wiltshire.
